Tecopa Palms RV Park - Shoshone, California - October 2012

The Norvell's, Orne's and Mathias's hosted this camp-out at the Tecopa Palms RV park. We had a total of 15 rigs. A good time was had by all the attendees. The weather was really nice with some rain during the first couple nights. As always we played a lot of games and had some really great food. On Thursday evening the hosts provided a wel-come dinner that included Sloppy Joe sandwiches with coleslaw and cake for desert. Some members went to the Date Farm and had a Date Shake. The Cribbage tournament was won by Fred Culmer. Two Mexican Train games were played, the first one was won by Jane Culmer and the second one was won by Marilyn Herbert. We had a handicap scooter race that was won by Don Norvell. A poker game was won by Jean Ulrich, who walked away with $4.00.

NEVADA FALL SAMBOREE - Winnemucca Nevada - September 2012

The Pahrump Dust Devils had 8 rigs in attendance at this Samboree. All information and results of the computations and activities will be provided in the next Silver Log. Two of our members, Terry & Marilyn Herbert were crowned the 2012 Nevada Good Sam King & Queen.

LAKESIDE RV PARK - Pahrump Nevada - May 2012

May 2012 — The Dust Devils had a big turnout for our 4 day rally at the Lakeside RV Park in Pahrump NV. The weather was perfect and allowed us to play a lot of games outside and the food was fabulous, as always. We had a big surprise while playing a cribbage tournament in the grassy area near the RV's. The sprinkler system came on and soaked all the players, cribbage boards and cards. We did finished the tournament as soon as we got everything dried out.

AMARGOSA VALLEY CAMPOUT - April 2012

Longstreet Casino and RV Park

This campout was held at the Longstreet RV park that is located in the Amargosa Valley California. The weather did not cooperate. It was cold and we had rain every day but that did not keep us from having a good time. The RV park management provided us with a large conference room in the casino where we played games ate our meals and had our chapter meeting. Nevada Spring Samboree - March 2012

In Pahrump Nevada

This biannual Samboree is held in Pahrump Nevada at the Nevada Treasures RV park. We had 18 rigs at this Samboree. The next Samboree will be held at the Winnamucca NV Fair Grounds on September 20 thru 22, 2012.

 WE LOVE OUR GAMES AND WE ARE GOOD!

We won the Game Flag with the highest scores of all the games. Some of the winners were: Jean Ulrich - 2nd place in Cribbage singles. Chuck Hickstein - 1st place, Fred Culmer 2nd place and Floyd Neth - 3rd place, and Richard Friedel, horseshoes singles. Richard Friedel  took 1st place in Mexican Train and he took 2nd place in Zelch. Our mascot, Shadow won a first place ribbon in the Pet Parade. Al Orne and Janis Fidel won won ribbons in Washers. Martha Frame won a blue ribbon for her quilt in the Art & Crafts computation and Alice Norvell won 3 place and Don won 2nd place in the Theme Parade. Alice was on the 2nd place team in Bean Bag Baseball.

Beatty RV Park - February 2012

This campout was at Beatty NV RV Park and is the first time we have held a campout here. We had 17 rigs in attendance. The weather was really good and with a lot of good friendship, games and food, food and more food. We had a fund raiser bake sale that raised $134.00. A new member (Ed Underhill) was added to Chapter membership list. Games, games, games - Horseshoes, Washers, Cribbage, and Mexican Train kept everyone busy when they were not eating or BSing. 


We had to instruct Vi that you are not suppose to light the filter end of a cigarette and Denise had a hard time finding her glasses when they were on her face.

Nevada Treasures RV Park - Pahrump NV - January 2012

Chapter Meeting

Our January 2012 campout was held at a local RV park (Nevada Treasures). This is a beautiful RV park and being so close, it sure saves on gas. We had 18 rigs at this campout and 1 guest (Denise Gisler). The hosts served a really good welcome dinner on Thursday evening and we had a wonderful potluck meal on Saturday evening. As always we played a lot of games and horseshoes that was dominated by Lee Hites and Chuck Hickstein.The cribbage tournament was won by Udene Urban. Gary Davis had difficulty finding the restroom and went into the a storage room. He also had to be instructed on how to adjust the new ball cap that he has ordered for the chapter members. Lois Hall won the 50/50 drawing of $47 and she donated $25 back to the Chapter.

Mountain Falls Grill Room - Pahrump NV - December 2011

Our annual Christmas party was held at the at the Pahrump Mountain Falls Grill Room. We had 40 members and 4 guest in attendance. After a “Happy Hour” we held our chapter meeting followed by a wonderful buffet dinner. After dinner we held a “Steal your Christmas gift exchange”. The entire evening was a lot of fun.
